What is marked in the grid

Marking	Trigger
Red hatching	Rest period between two shifts too short – under 11 hours before publication, under 8 hours afterwards – or more than five shifts in a row.
Yellow hatching	Request mismatch: a request was replaced by a different shift, or the shift violates one of the person's general requests. Only until publication.
Week column yellow / red	50 or 60 hours reached in a calendar week.
Balance Δ red	more than 15 hours above target.

Entries with red hatching are still saved – you see the conflict and decide. The message Sorry, there is a problem with the required REST PERIOD. appears at the top. If a later change resolves the conflict, the hatching disappears – on the neighbouring days as well.

Absences and placeholders count as rest. Spare-time shifts are checked like working shifts.

Licences

There is no licence warning in the grid, because unsuitable shifts are not offered in the first place: a cell's selection list contains only shifts for which the person holds all required licences as active. Only Repeat does not check licences.

General requests

If a person has a general request – for example no night shifts on Fridays – and you assign them anyway, the cell is hatched yellow. The shift's tooltip names the violated request; the tooltip on the initials lists all general requests.

ATS.OR.320 rule set

The limits are based on the elements that Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373, ATS.OR.320, requires of rostering systems for air traffic control. An overview is in the appendix under ATS.OR.320.
