Volunteering for overtime

Where requests appear

Open overtime calls in your unit are listed on the dashboard in the Warnings card under Overtime wanted – and on the home screen of the app. If you have registered a device for notifications, you also receive a message Dienst gesucht (shift wanted) as soon as the supervisor sends the request to you.

Each entry shows the shift, date, time and deadline: Volunteer until DD.MM. HH:MM.

Volunteering

1. For the whole shift, leave both time fields empty. For part of it, enter From and To (hh:mm). In the app you choose the times from a list in 30-minute steps.
2. Click Volunteer.

Your offer is then shown in the row with whole shift or the times. Use Withdraw to take it back; to change the times, withdraw and volunteer again.

Notes in the row:

• no licence – you do not hold a licence the shift requires. You can still volunteer; the supervisor sees the note.
• Warning triangle – something speaks against you on this day: you are already on duty or absent, already have overtime, the rest period would be too short or there would be too many shifts in a row. The tooltip gives the reason.

Deadline and extension

You can volunteer and withdraw until the deadline. If nobody has volunteered by the deadline, the call stays open for two more hours: Deadline passed, volunteering still open. If you have volunteered and the deadline has passed, the row shows Deadline passed, awaiting decision.

The result

The supervisor assigns the shift. Everyone who volunteered receives a message – either the award or a refusal with thanks for volunteering. On the dashboard the result is shown for three hours under Overtime result:

• ✓ You got this shift. – for a partial award with the times assigned
• ○ Assigned to someone else. Thanks for volunteering!

An assigned shift appears in your roster as overtime in red.
